Quick Summary
- Cancel anytime — your access continues until the end of your current billing period.
- Within 24 hours of any charge: full refund + immediate cancellation.
- Days 2–14 after a charge: pro-rata refund for unused days + immediate cancellation.
- After 14 days: cancel at end of billing period, no refund.
- Refunds are processed automatically via the Developer Console — no support ticket required.
1. Cancellation Policy
This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to all subscriptions to the Services provided by Foodashi ("Foodashi"). You may cancel your subscription at any time via the Developer Console. You have two options:
- Turn off auto-renewal: Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. You will not be charged again. You retain full access until the period ends, at which point your account is automatically downgraded to the free Hobby tier.
- Cancel with refund (if eligible): Your subscription is terminated immediately, you receive a refund (full or pro-rata depending on timing), and your account is downgraded to Hobby instantly. API keys are adjusted to Hobby-tier limits immediately upon cancellation.
You do not need to contact support to cancel. All cancellation actions are available as self-service within the Developer Console.
2. Refund Eligibility & Tiers
Foodashi operates a tiered refund system based on the time elapsed since your most recent charge. Every successful charge (whether an initial subscription, renewal, or upgrade) opens a new refund window. Refund amounts are calculated based on the actual amount charged on your invoice (after any discounts, coupons, or promotions), not the listed plan price.
If you cancel within 24 hours of any charge, you receive a full refund of the amount charged. Your subscription is terminated immediately and your account is downgraded to the free Hobby tier.
This applies to all charges: initial subscriptions, monthly or yearly renewals, and plan upgrades.
If you cancel between 2 and 14 days after a charge, you receive a pro-rata refund for the unused portion of your billing period. The refund is calculated as:
Your subscription is terminated immediately and your account is downgraded to the free Hobby tier.
This tier ensures compliance with the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) and UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, which grant consumers a 14-day right of withdrawal from digital service contracts.
If more than 14 days have passed since your most recent charge, no refund is available. You may still cancel your subscription, in which case your access continues until the end of the current billing period and is not renewed.
After 14 days, the digital service is considered substantially consumed and no refund obligation exists under applicable consumer protection law.
3. Non-Refundable Items
The following are not eligible for self-service refunds:
- Enterprise plans: Enterprise customers must contact their account manager or [email protected] for cancellation and refund requests. Enterprise agreements may have separate refund terms.
- Setup fees or one-time charges: Any non-recurring fees are non-refundable once the associated service has been delivered.
- Accounts in violation: If your account has been suspended or terminated for breach of our Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy, no refund is available.
4. How Refunds Are Processed
- Refunds are processed automatically when you use the cancel-with-refund option in the Developer Console.
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method (the card on file via Stripe).
- Refunds typically appear on your statement within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
- Upon refund, your subscription is cancelled immediately. You are downgraded to the free Hobby tier and your API keys are adjusted to Hobby-tier rate limits.
- If a refund cannot be processed immediately due to a payment provider outage, your account will show a "Refund Pending" status. The refund will be retried automatically and you will receive a confirmation email once processed.
5. Automatic Renewals
All paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) unless cancelled before the renewal date. You will receive an email reminder at least 7 days before annual subscription renewals and at least 3 days before monthly subscription renewals. You can also check your renewal date at any time in the Developer Console.
If your subscription renews and you did not intend to continue, you may cancel with a full refund within 24 hours of the renewal charge, or a pro-rata refund within 14 days. After 14 days, the charge is non-refundable.
You may turn off auto-renewal at any time. This does not trigger a refund — it simply prevents future charges. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period.
6. Failed Payments & Grace Period
If a renewal payment fails, you enter a 7-day grace period during which Stripe may retry the charge. If payment succeeds during the grace period, your subscription continues without interruption. If payment is not resolved within 7 days, your account is automatically downgraded to the free Hobby tier.
Failed renewal charges that are never successfully collected are not eligible for refund, as no payment was made.
7. Abuse Prevention
The refund system is designed for legitimate use. Foodashi reserves the right to investigate and deny refund requests that exhibit patterns of abuse, including but not limited to:
- Subscribing, consuming a significant volume of API data, and then requesting a refund repeatedly.
- Using the refund mechanism to circumvent subscription fees while retaining API-generated data.
- Creating multiple accounts to exploit refund eligibility windows.
Foodashi may, at its sole discretion, suspend refund eligibility, terminate accounts, or take other appropriate action in cases of suspected abuse. This does not affect your statutory consumer rights under applicable law.
8. EU & UK Consumer Rights
If you are a consumer located in the European Union or United Kingdom, you have a statutory right of withdrawal under the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and Hungarian Government Decree 45/2014 (II. 26.) Korm. rendelet.
This right allows you to withdraw from a digital service contract within 14 days of purchase without giving any reason. Our Tier 1 (full refund within 24 hours) and Tier 2 (pro-rata refund within 14 days) are designed to comply with and exceed these statutory requirements.
By subscribing, you request and consent to immediate performance of the digital service, and acknowledge that your right of withdrawal is reduced proportionally to the service already consumed, as permitted by Article 14(3) of Directive 2011/83/EU.
Nothing in this Refund Policy limits or excludes any statutory consumer rights that cannot be waived or restricted by contract under applicable law. If you believe your statutory rights have not been respected, you may contact [email protected] or the consumer protection authority in your jurisdiction.
